StepOne Decon-Boosting Film (12.5-oz spray can)
The first proactive dermal decon product for the fire service. Removes carcinogens from the skin 10x more effectively than skin wipes and showers alone.
Description
StepOne is the world’s first proactive dermal decon product. It is applied to the skin before exposure to fireground carcinogens and later works to delay the absorption of these carcinogens into the skin until they can be cleaned off using skin wipes and showers.
To use, simply apply StepOne to your forearms, lower legs, and neck one time at the beginning of your shift, and then proceed as usual—no further action is required. StepOne is comfortable and long-lasting, feeling like a light athletic sunscreen but lasting for a full 24-hour shift and strongly resisting sweat, water, abrasion, and heat. During firefighting, StepOne does its work by keeping carcinogens on the surface of the skin instead of allowing them to be absorbed. After a fire, perform dermal decon like usual using traditional techniques such skin wipes and showers. Because the carcinogens are still on the skin’s surface and available to be removed, StepOne improves dermal decon effectiveness by 10x.
The 12.5-oz spray can contains enough applications to last a single firefighter for approximately 30 entire 24-hour shifts, or 15 entire 48-hour tours.
